Magna Science Adventure Centre

Magna is officially the best events venue in the UK, winning the Enjoy England award for Business Tourism in 2006! The former steelworks turned events venue, Magna Science Adventure Centre offers a unique, interactive, learning environment.

Magna Science Adventure Centre is located east of Rotherham town centre and is well connected by several modes of transport. Please consider using public transport or car sharing wherever possible.

By train

The most convenient train stations to use are Rotherham Central or Sheffield. From either of these stations you are advised to take the no.69 bus service direct to Magna. From Sheffield station walk to the Interchange (about 4 mins) to catch the bus. From Rotherham Central, buses stop outside the station on Bridge Street (turn left out of the station entrance).

By bus

Bus service no.69 (Sheffield-Rotherham) stops right outside Magna. Buses operate every 15 minutes during the daytime from Monday to Saturday, and every hour on Sundays.

From Sheffield city centre, buses pick up at the Interchange (stop C1), Paternoster Row, Arundel Gate (stops CS2 and AG3) and Wicker (stop WK1). From other areas of Sheffield, travel by local bus or supertram into the city centre and then change onto the number 69 service at the most convenient stop. For supertram it is best to change at Castle Square for the Arundel Gate stop AG3.

By coach

If you are travelling by National Express coaches, alight at Sheffield Interchange and take the no.69 bus service to Magna.

By car

From the North
Exit junction 34 toward Sheffield (Meadowhall)/Rotherham/A6109.
At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit toward Sheffield/Tinsley/A631.
At Sheffield Rd, take the 5th exit onto A6178/Sheffield Rd heading to Sheffield (Centre)
Go through 1 roundabout
Make a U-turn at Lock House Rd
Continue to follow A6178 until you reach Magna Science Adventure Centre.

From the South
Exit junction 34, take the A6178 exit to Sheffield/Rotherham
At Sheffield Rd, take the 2nd exit onto A6178/Sheffield Rd heading to Sheffield (Centre)
Go through 1 roundabout
Make a U-turn at Lock House Rd
Continue to follow A6178 until you reach Magna Science Adventure Centre
