
The South Yorkshire e-learning Programme (SYeLP) is proud to be the corporate sponsor of e-Attain. SYeLP was set up in 2001 as a partnership of the four local authorities in South Yorkshire: Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and Sheffield City Council. Funded by the European Social Fund and European Regional Development Fund through Objective 1, SYeLP is the biggest investment in e-learning of its kind in Europe. Over £72 million has been spent on building an ICT infrastructure, training and skills training over the last six years. This includes funding the development of a Learning Portal in Rotherham that will provide an online learning space for all Rotherham pupils and support cross organisation collaboration with a particular emphasis on supporting the introduction of Diplomas into 14-19 education.The impacts on the ICT skills, lives and employability of people aged10-63 in South Yorkshire's schools, small and medium sized businesses and adult and community organisations are clear to see:
